Paper Light was shot for a Petaling Street paper merchant using nothing but sheets of translucent paper as light modifiers, and the studies moved from hard folds to soft gradients as the afternoon storms rolled over the city and back out again, and the series kept a single fixed camera position so the paper itself became the performer, bending, tearing and glowing, while the prints were finished matte so the highlights would sit quietly instead of shining.
